The endemic Rufous-faced Antpitta is fairly common to common at borders of wet to humid cloud and elfin forest and in adjacent shrubby areas. Not as shy as other antpittas, it hops on the ground or in low vegetation. It can be seen in many locations along the corridor that runs along the old road from Santa Cruz to Cochabamba and on to La Paz. Of the recommended Hotspots, the following have registered sightings of the Rufous-faced Antpitta: Refugio Los Volcanes; Serranía de Siberia; Tablas Monte Area; Chapare Region, Miguelito Substation Road; and Old Coroico Road.
